Pulling all off those big special attacks was so satisfying that I could almost forgive its problems. Every game's camera needs to keep the player in view! Sometimes when I was playing, the camera was so slow it couldn't even keep my fighter on-screen. Plus when you throw in a sluggish camera and it just becomes a mess. Some fights I'd have eight characters all flying, dashing, blasting and attacking all at once. It's good that they have loads of stages to fight through but I found the maps were a bit too cramped. The cell-shaded graphics, are nice and crisp, especially when they go Super Saiyan! Oooo, but the game does feature some robot android characters.Īnd I do like that it looks very faithful to the anime. I mean, a lot of the less famous fighters use the same moves and are pretty similar anyway.Īffirmative Hex, in fact, most of the combat in the game consists of spamming the melee button and finishing off with a ki-blast. As usual, there's a big range of fighters to pick from. Yeah, this game oozes nostalgia, right from the moment I heard that familiar Dragon Ball music. This game starts off with what's known as the Saiyan Saga, where you fight Raditz. We've got a lot of flying and fire-balling to do in the new Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Z.ĭragon Ball Z: Battle of Z is the latest fighter in the long-running game series based on the anime TV show.
